Ancient Fish Reveals How Animals First Walked on Land

Scientists discovered a 380-million-year-old fish from Antarctica that might be the ancestor of the first animals to walk on Earth! Using special imaging that lets them see inside the fish's skull without breaking it, they found features that helped this fish gulp air and sense day and night—skills that may have helped later animals survive when they climbed out of the water. This little fish might be the missing link between creatures that lived in water and creatures that walked on land!
