Ivory Coast Fisherman Rescues and Hand-Rears Orphaned Baby Manatee

When local fisherman Goué André Clotaire Gbagou accidentally caught a vulnerable baby manatee in his net on the Sassandra River, he realized the calf was too young to survive on its own. Instead of releasing it, Gbagou took the animal in, dedicating himself to nursing the young manatee back to health.
